Everhope Farms and Studio
Mebane / Orange County
Everhope Farms and Studio The meandering country lane comes to an end at the heart of this homestead nestled in the hills of the Piedmont. Surrounding the old farmhouse and rambling barns, open pastures are dotted with rare breed Lincoln Longwool sheep, Boer goats, Dexter and Jersey cattle and an array of chickens, cats, Great Pyrenees dogs, a turkey and...well, you get the picture. It's a pretty place...and a pretty busy place. The animals are all raised in the healthiest way possible - out in the fields. The meat produced is all hormone and antibiotic free, grass fed goodness. The sheep produce fleece that is dyed, spun, woven and felted. Lincoln wool is a very long, strong fiber and our yarns make wonderful rugs. Seasonally we grow asparagus, blueberries and a lot of hay. Lavender is sold as fresh or dried bundles and in sachets. The Studio is home to many arts and crafts. Besides all the fiber and yarns, we create artworks in various mediums, such as stained and fused glass, jewelry and mosaics. Fine art instruction is also available in drawing, painting and pastels. Part of the Orange County Artist's Guild, we participate in the Open Studio Tour each fall. We love visitors and spend a lot of time mentoring. Call ahead to visit.
