Founded in 1999, Shelton Vineyards is the largest family-owned estate winery in North Carolina. Located in the Yadkin Valley near Dobson and Mt. Airy, NC, the winery features a spacious visitor center with a tasting bar and gift shop. Shelton Vineyards offers tours and tastings every day of the week. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and picnicking is encouraged--picnic supplies are available on the premises. During the summer months, Shelton Vineyards sponsors a summer concert series on its outdoor stage. The Harvest Grill, located on the vineyard grounds, offers upscale dining with a bistro-style atmosphere.

Retail hours for the winery: Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sun. (during Daylight Savings Time)1 - 6 p.m. Our tours depart every half hour. Winter hours are Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sun., 1 - 5 p.m. The winery is open every day of the year except Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Harvest Grill: Mon.-Thurs., 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.; and Sun., 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. |

The tour and tasting is $5 per person. This includes a guided tour of the 33,000 square-foot winery with an overview of the winemaking process, a tasting of five wines, and a souvenir glass. |
