Housed in a reclaimed 1911 bank, the Council offers support to local artists and exhibits their works. It presents nine exhibits each year featuring various media ranging from the traditional to the contemporary. In addition, the Council also sponsors musical productions and a series of “ArtTrips” to concerts, dance, and theatrical performances throughout North Carolina. Wine tasting is popular during exhibits. At Christmas, the Council Gallery becomes a huge gift shop for the sale of art, crafts, cards, and other original creations.
